Creation
The Committee of Banking Supervisors of West and Central Africa was established at Accra (Ghana) on April 1994 during an inaugural meeting at which took part : the Banking Commission of Central Africa (COBAC), the Banking Commission of West African Monetary Union (UMOA), the Democratic Republic of Congo, The Gambia, Ghana, Madagascar, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.
